I’m looking into using GE Cimplicity with AB Controller. A coworker is doing a project in Cimplicity and I can speed up mine using his HMI instead of starting from scratch with Factory Talk. Any advice would be helpful.
The big difference with FT View verses other HMI software is, once you point it to your AB PLC the software “sees” all the tags in the controller, now all you have to do is associate the tag with the control on the screen.
The other thing I do know is FT View and PanelViews have MUCH more functionality than other HMI software. We tried doing short cuts by using cheaper HMI’s and software, didn’t work very well.
Not familiar with Cimplicity but the one thing Rockwell has going for it, if you use their stuff, it just works.
