I have a question on database preservation regarding compactlogix controllers. I have worked with allen bradley for the last number of years mainly on stand alone systems. Majority of changes I have made after initial download have been online if needs a full download. I recently worked on a factory wide system where there is a lot of logging and reporting and a full download is not feasible as it wipes or reverts back to older data. I have tried but failed to implement the tag upload download tool, so instead I am using the compare tool to merge the current code and the modified offline code into one keeping the old data values. My question is does anyone know of an easy way to preserve the current data tag values of a program while doing a full download?
