I have issue. We want to connect Stratix 5700 (1) with another Stratix 5700 (2) on via G1 ports.
I have set up smartports for both switches on Gi1 ports as Switch for Automation. We using Ethernet 5E cable, switches are on the same VLAN. When we hook up cables, we don’t see connection. Stratix web interface on the Gi1 ports shows No link on the port.
We don’t use any NAT or other port settings.
When Stratix (1) Gi1 is hooked up with Stratix (2) Fa ports and with the same smartport roles we have connection.
So logic question if we are allowed to connect managed switch with managed switch on Gi1 ports. Or I need to setup different settings in Gi1 ports
Thank you.

Karma: 0Rank: PadawanYes they are on the same LANs. We started to figure out that cables which we are connecting G1 with G1 ports are profinet net cables with 4 leads specification shows that they are 100mb not 1000mb to for transferring data.
The issue has been solved by changing port speed to 100mb on both ports, but still question why in Auto speed is not working.
On next project we need to change our design, because I don’t like to play with ports settings. always some issues is coming across
