      Hello,

I am planning to use PowerFlex 40 VFD drive for following motor to run a conveyor belt.

      Motor Spec. HP 1 / Volts: 208-230 / Amps 3.7-3.4 / RPM: 1725 / Hz 60 / PH 3 / Ser,F 1.15

Could you help me to find out which size Circuit Breaker do I need for VFD ? And Do I need Motor Overload ?

      Thanks,

      Raj

        Hi Raj,

Please see attached excerpt from the PowerFlex 40 User Manual. I recommend fusing, however, if you’re going to be using circuit breakers make sure they are rated for motor branch circuit protection such as the AB 140M. VFD’s typically have overload protection built in so external overload’s should not be required. Again, refer to the user manual for the specific drive you are using.

        Cheers!
